I was often asked "Who are you drawing?" whenever I draw a person (Mostly girls), most of them are nameless characters except for a few... I quickly sketched this doodle out, and coloured roughly on photoshop. ^^



BBlue is probably one of the first characters I ever created (and actually remembered) for an online chatting site. She's probably eternally 19 years old, gentle and smart, very girly but a bit stubborn.

Paw is boisterous and silly, loud and sometimes a bit annoying. She's the most tomboyish of the lot. Her hair was sometimes reddish rather than dark blue :) I think I draw her the most.

Red is a character I almost scratched, but I do like her mature and curvy design. She has a mysterious occupation (a spy maybe?) And is quite athletic despite her feminine look.

Ahmin is probably the most exposed and long running original character I have created so far. In fact I cannot even remember which year I created her o_o; but it is a long time ago ^^;
The funny thing was she was initially supposed to be a male character but I asked for her to be a tomboy instead since girls are cuter and have more fun with fashion (and they accepted the idea). You may still see her reporting on anime/manga/comics related news about once a week on the Chinese Daily paper Lianhe Zaobao in Singapore.

Of course there's also the character, May, whom I created as the cover girl of my first book, from Puppy with Love. I hope to some day revive her if I settle down on a good storyline :)

Hmmmm I put a poll on the side of the blog for this entry, not sure if it's working, sooooo if it's working for you.... which girl you like most? *puppy dog eyes* LOL

I must apologize for the delay in making these since I promised a while ago ^^; these days it has just been getting busier and crazier by the minute :P So I bring you 3 versions of the Bikini girl (click to view past progress) wallpapers :D She was initially going to be a blond girl, so I included a blond version as well. Thankfully it is relatively easy to change the colours if you have all similar colours in layers ^^

I am not sure how I am going to make a go to previous pages link at the bottom, since I am not hosting on blogger (oops) think it is a sticky matter to deal with, as I am not good at coding... ;_;

So, I am going to at least try to link to wallpaper I created with my artwork on the side, under the navigation buttons :) Currently Mirai wallpaper is linked there ^^/ Need to find time/inspiration to make the bikini girl into wallpapers :P

I have also updated a few links into Links page, gotta find some ways to categorize the links properly ^^;

One day I was checking out del.icio.us I came across this site by accident.
PhotoshopDisasters. Can you believe some people actually get paid for doing this kinda work? :P

Mind you, I myself do a little bit too much tweaking on photoshop sometimes, if not all the time!

A recent example of my over tweaking below:


The one on the left is the original art, and one on the right is tweaked in photoshop.
If I could choose, I would rather to not have to do so much tweaking, as it seems to make the original art kinda blah. So these days, if I have some artwork sketched out without feeling that I need to do too much photoshop tweaking to it I would be quite happy! ^

Many years ago, I remember having carefully coloured an artwork before in photoshop, posted it up (being quite satisfied with it) and having someone tell me that I got the thumb on the wrong side on one hand LOL (oops!)

While visiting some artist friends in the states earlier this year, we were also talking about the over-usage of the photoshop filter "lense flare" probably when was just introduced into photoshop at the time -- finished your artwork? Let's add some "lense flare"! :P Eyes not sparkley enough? Yup "lense flare"! LOL

There's probably a fine line between what's enough and what's too much no?

A quick sketch, low resolution scan, turned into a quick CG ^^; (as in coloured in less than an hour) Computer is not cooperative with printer at the moment so will probably be a while before I can scan it at a better resolution :P

So came home and meddled with the art a bit -- editing the line art removing artifacts, colouring/shading. I felt that the hand nearer to her head was a bit small (It was bugging me since I started colouring it) so I edited it in photoshop ^^; Hopefully it looks a bit better now?

Also coloured her bikini, wanted it to be a dark maroony colour but changed it to this colour instead, maybe change the colour again later tho :3

Since I didn't scan this at a higher resolution, colouring this piece was faster than expected ^^; I had to clean up the lines in Sai first tho. When the file is larger (due to resolution) computer is sluggish in photoshop and sometimes not cooperative :P Full view in Gallery ^^/

Full version in Gallery :3 I guess this piece of artwork is somewhat suggestive, in comparison to a lot of my other artwork ^^; Really enjoyed using Sai to ink this piece of artwork! I end up colouring most of it in photoshop tho ^^;



One of my all time favourite Mangaka is Masakazu Katsura san, I dare say he was possibly one of the (in)direct influence to my evolving art style. I was presented 2 translated mangas of Video girl Ai in my teens by an aquaintance from a comic shop -- so touched as I really enjoyed the 2 books when I borrowed them at the time, but couldn't afford buying the whole set from my pocket money.

I really like how sensual and soft the females he draws, and I strive to become a fraction as good as he is ^^! Years ago, he used to have a website where I actually submitted a fan art to, but unfortunately it is not online anymore ;_;

My dearest friend Saka actually managed to meet Katsura in person during one of the anime conventions in USA and kindly got me a wonderful autograph from him (which I treasure!) Maybe I should try to scan that sometime :P

Messed around with some effects on photoshop :3 Rather basic effects, as you probably can tell :P Haven't decide what colour shall her hair be... pink? also gotta decide on her clothing colour too... decisious decisions. Maybe I'll mull over it this weekend :)

I was sorting out some artwork and found a few which I really liked but never got around colouring. Today managed to take some time to work on it in between some work :3

This inked drawing is most likely drawn in 2002, I forgot to date it after I finished inking it (oops) In the original scan, due to that the pen bleeds a bit on the paper, the lines are broken especially in the hair area. With my trusty old wacom (of many years) and photoshop, I managed to cleaned up most of the line art. Now it is ready for colouring ^O^!

Our poor cat Meowmeow had a weird injury on his bum which we discovered when it got worse, about a week and half ago, he has to wear the cone (or e-collar) so that he won't try to lick his 2nd uh hole open again :P

Had this image for a while in my head now, actually the version in my head is more simplified. Also have other versions in my head, like him trying to eat, jump up on the bay window etc etc. Maybe will doodle them when I have a chance to... Doodle is updated in Gallery.
